Heat treatments
Below are some of the heat treatments we perform on request
TEMPRA
Heat treatment of metals, alloys, glass, directed essentially to improve their mechanical properties of strength, bending: usually consists of heating to a given temperature and subsequent cooling, more or less rapid, obtained by various systems
BONIFY
Heat treatment used to achieve high hardness/strength of steel. It consists of austenitizing, quenching and tempering in order to maintain a tempered martensite or bainite structure.
AGING
Heat treatment that results in a structural transformation of the material, usually achieved by precipitation, which occurs in some alloys after cold deformation followed by heat treatment (300 °C).
REVENGE
Tempering is a heat treatment of a metal performed in order to reduce the negative effects of hardening on the material, in case the material exhibits excessive hardness and therefore brittleness. So after a tempering follows a tempering: this dual process is called tempering.
NORMALIZATION
Consists of heating to a temperature above AC3, for a sufficient time to completely austenitize the material in a controlled atmosphere (so as not to decarburize the parts), followed by cooling in still or moved air
CEMENTATION
Cementation is a thermochemical diffusion treatment involving Carbon enrichment on the surface of a mechanical component made of steel in the semi-finished/finished state
Coatings
Below are some of the coatings and galvanic treatments we perform on request
COLD GALVANIZING
Electrolytic galvanizing deposits a zinc surface that will vary according to the specific technical requirements that the treated part must meet, generally calculated according to its resistance to corrosion. In any case, the treatment must always ensure maximum uniformity, and thus complete protection of the part.
HOT DIP GALVANIZING (HDG)
Hot-dip galvanizing is generally understood to be the immersion of steel artifacts in a bath of molten zinc held at an average temperature of 450 °C which results in the steel being covered with a thin, tough layer of zinc , the steel is covered by the zinc with a much greater thickness than electrolytic galvanizing, this is due to the method of administering the protective layer
XYLAN®
Xylan® is an industrial fluoropolymer coating, most commonly used in nonstick cookware. It is generally applied in a thin film to the material to improve its durability and nonstick properties. Xylan® is generally used to reduce ‘friction, improve wear resistance, and for nonstick applications . In addition, it can be used to protect a metal from corrosion
ANODIZATION
Anodizing (also called anodic oxidation) is an electrochemical process by which a protective layer of oxide is formed on the surface of the metal being treated. Anodizing is carried out to increase surface characteristics, both technical and aesthetic.
GEOMET®
Geomet® treatment, is an anticorrosive, nonelectrolytic treatment using a patented aqueous solution. This thin layer of protective coating (between 5 and 10 µm), contains passivated zinc and aluminum in lamellar form, and is applied to components by dipping or spraying.
NICKELATURA
Nickel plating is a surface treatment to which some materials may be subjected. It is distinguished into two processing methods, electroless nickel plating and chemical nickel plating. The purpose of the treatment is to change the surface characteristics of the processed materials (hardness, resistance to external agents, etc.).
- OTHER GALVANIC TREATMENTS AND COATINGS
- Hard anodizing, chemical nickel plating, silver plating, gold plating, PVD, copper plating, nickel-free coatings, chrome plating, burnishing, etching
